Safe & Secure Housing Program

We provide targeted housing stabilization support to children and families facing immediate or ongoing instability, recognizing that safe and secure housing is foundational to family wellbeing. This includes assistance with emergency home repairs that address safety concerns, support for kinship caregivers navigating licensing or approval requirements, and transitional housing assistance for families working toward long-term stability.

Our approach prioritizes keeping children in safe, nurturing environments-particularly with parents or relatives-by removing housing-related barriers that can lead to unnecessary separation or prolonged placement. By addressing urgent needs such as utilities, structural safety issues, or temporary housing gaps, we help families stabilize during critical moments of transition.

Support for kinship caregivers is a key component of this work. We assist relatives in meeting housing and licensing requirements so children can remain connected to their tiospaye, culture, and community. These efforts reduce placement disruptions and strengthen extended family networks.

All housing-related services are delivered with respect, compassion, and cultural understanding. We recognize that housing instability is often the result of systemic inequities rather than personal failure. Our programs are designed to support families in overcoming these challenges while maintaining dignity, security, and self-determination-creating pathways to stability that support reunification, preservation, and long-term family wellbeing.
